Comprehensive Security 2024 and Know-How Fair
In Joensuu, the October weekend will introduce citizens to comprehensive security and safety. The goal is to get the citizens – that is, all of us – to understand what comprehensive security means and the importance of preparedness in our time.
Finland’s comprehensive security and related elements will be presented in a variety of ways at the fair. At the same time, cooperation between the authorities, the business life, NGOs, educational institutions, communities and citizens is promoted in securing the functions vital to society. Related products, services, training and know-how are presented as widely as possible.
Comprehensive security is the sum of many things, says chairman of the fair’s organizing committee, Mr. Erkko Kajander, Counsellor of Industry.
– Many people understand that, for example, our country’s defence capability, border control and, for example, security of supply are essential issues here. It is, however, a broader entity that touches us all, in ordinary everyday life. Internal security, the economy, the population’s ability to function and psychological resilience – all of these matter. In other words, from day- to- day safety and security to national defence.
The Comprehensive Security 2024 and Know-How Fair – originally called the National Defence Fair – was organized for the first time in Helsinki in 1992. The previous fair, Comprehensive Security 2022, was organized in Tampere. Now it’s the turn of the tenth fair, and Joensuu is the venue situated in the most eastern province of Finland , North Carelia.
Comprehensive Security 2024 and Know-How Fair is the main security fair in Finland this year.
